AGENDA
Call to Order
Casey called the meeting to order at 5:52
Approval of Meeting Minutes
The minutes will be reviewed at the next Board meeting.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer submitted a written report. She made a note that a few things have not cleared yet. The transfer of accounts that was approved at the previous meeting has not been completed yet.
Margie moved to approve the financial report as presented. Motion seconded by Juan and carried unanimously.
Membership Report
Organizing memberships continues to be a work in progress. Kelly will reach out to past due members for updates. Mainstream Boutique recently submitted payment to renew.
Event Committee Report
Coffee Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at 8:00 am at Prairie Sky Bread. Each Board member is taking responsibility for attending and leading one meeting.
The next quarterly evening Social will be April 7th at Off the Vine.
The Coffee Crawl did well especially considering the cold weather that day. There were about 150 attendees. The Board suggested sending out an email to members to keep them up to date and report on the voter’s choice winners.
The Bunny Hop is April 2nd from 10-12. An opt-in email was sent to DBPA members and Denise is printing posters. Juan may dress like a bunny.
Mom’s and Mimosas is May 9th and was also included in the opt-in email.
Straight Up and Toasted could potentially be cancelled. The Spot may not have the operational capacity to hold the event and maintain the quality that we want. The time needed to make the event live up to our standards and make the raffle profitable is running out. There aren’t enough employees to manage the event and volunteers aren’t a valid possibility.
The event is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year so we would need something else to supplement. The Events Committee will meet next Monday at The Spot at 5:00 to make a decision.
Old Business
Adam is working on keeping the website up to date and has added upcoming events.
We still need to update the credit card information to utilize Click Up.
Kelly’s Contract has been reviewed by the Board and is being finalized.
The lights are working on Main Street. Juan will make arrangements with Margie to schedule a tutorial. The next block to hang lights will be from The Taube to The Spot.
Beautification Committee
As the new Chair, Christine had a discussion with Margie on some of the history of the Beautification Committee, including the processes and partnerships involved with hanging the flower pots. She plans to reach out to the Minot Park District, which Margie said is at capacity with the amount of work they have for the summer. She also hopes to solicit sponsors to maintain the flower beds in multi-year commitments. Christine plans to meet with service groups to try and find volunteers.
Christine will look into grants for lighting under the Beautification Committee. The quotes have changed drastically since originally approved in 2021. All of the quotes now include pricing for Central and Main Street. Labor and equipment needs to be factored in ahead of time. Juan and Christine will discuss more details for an accurate quote to submit for grants.
She then brought up the recent damage done to the curbs during snow removal. The City scraped the curbs so Casey will reach out to the Public Works Director to report it.
Adjournment
Motion to adjourn by Juan, seconded by Margie 6:44
