Downtown Minot Beautification Project Set for May 17

Downtown Minot is preparing for its annual beautification effort, with two parts: the Minot Parks District annual planting and, new this year, the Minot Pollinators Project flower installation, both scheduled for May 17, 2026.

What the Project Includes

This seasonal effort helps bring color and life to Minot’s historic downtown district by supporting:

  • 21 flower beds total (11 Minot Parks and 9 The Pollinator Project)
  • 110 hanging pots (Minot Parks)
  • One tree replacement on Main Street in front of Peggy’s Gift Shop

The work will take place along Main Street and Central Avenue, helping refresh the downtown corridor for the busy season ahead.

Why This Year Matters

This year’s effort carries added significance as Minot celebrates its 140th Anniversary, alongside the nation’s 250th Anniversary. Downtown is also expected to welcome increased visitor traffic during a season filled with major events such as Arts in the City at Citizen’s Alley, Festival on Main, the Dakota Cruisers Car Show, and more.

Beautification efforts will help ensure the Magic District looks its best for both residents and visitors all season long.

Support for the Project

Support for this year’s effort includes a $2,500 award from the Aggie Foundation, helping advance Downtown Minot’s mission of enhancing and maintaining the district.

The project is also being complemented through a partnership with Tim Bowman and the Minot Pollinators Project, adding a sustainability-minded element to the beautification effort.

Community volunteers are now being sought to help with installation on May 17, 2026.
